Comic: Pepper the Witch
I made a comic book based on an original character of mine. She's a witch working to become a detective who solves crimes with a shape-shifting cat and a ghost. I decided to make the story of how the three of them met before they began going on their wacky adventures.
Story Synopsis
Pepper’s Adventures follows the story of a young witch named Pepper Black who is an aspiring detective that travels the world solving crimes. When the small town of Waxwick’s main energy source—Candlelight—is stolen, Pepper is hired to solve the mystery. She is joined by a strange talking cat named Dr. Michael Oliver with secrets of his own. Together they set off to find the thief responsible before all of Waxwick’s light goes off.
As they gather clues and near the end of their investigation, Dr. Michael Oliver betrays Pepper, revealing he’s actually a shapeshifting boy and sneaks off to find the Candlelight for himself. He was cursed by another witch to remain a cat forever unless he brought her the Candlelight. Pepper manages to track him down as they discover the thief behind the missing Candlelight.
In the middle of the forest stands a small ghost (Ghaze Hollow) dancing around the light. The ghost means no harm, simply believes they’ve made a friend. Michael and Pepper fight to get it back. Michael is very hesitant to fight considering they’d become friends. Pepper ultimately convinces him she’d help find a cure to his curse if he lets her return the Candlelight.
After the Candlelight is returned to Waxwick, their light returns and the whole town celebrates. Pepper seeks out Ghaze, the lonely ghost, offering them a chance to join her in their next adventure. Ghaze agrees and together the three of them set off again to cure Michael.
